Clinical Supervision

Professional clinical supervision is an important and often mandatory requirement of professional practice for allied health professionals. Supervision allows professionals to clarify & resolve issues that arise from their workplace or clinical practice. Professional supervision can involve debriefing, identifying gaps in practice, career and goal setting, traumatic instances, stress/work loads, compassion fatigue, burnout, just to mention a few.

Ongoing clinical supervision, professional development, self-awareness, self-development, self-monitoring and self-examination is central to effective and ethical practice. Such practices lead to enhanced capacity to utilise the self of the practitioner effectively in the therapeutic relationship.
